Storyline
A border in Europe. A painting by Paul Klee. A poem by Walter Benjamin. A film about yesterday and today, and how difficult it is to recognize one behind the other.
About the film/director
Born in 1975. First short film in 2003. After studying media informatics (focus on media), works at the Social Science Research Center Berlin. Rescues himself in 2005 to the Filmarche, a self-administered film school in Berlin, and chooses to major in documentary film directing. There he is responsible for various lectures and workshops. Meanwhile member of the Filmarche's Council of Elders and involved in the professional association AG DOK. 2014 Artiste en Residence of the Rencontres Cinématographiques in Cerbère, France. 2019 Completion of the master's degree in documentary directing at the Filmuniversität Konrad Wolf in Potsdam-Babelsberg. Eric Esser lives and works in Berlin.
