Teresa, Station B

Storyline

Nurse Teresa must leave her children at home to begin her hospital shift. When her son injures his head, she realizes she cannot leave the ward as the only qualified caregiver. She reaches out to her ex-husband, who steps in but threatens to take custody. Meanwhile, a patient suffers a cardiac arrest, and Teresa fights to save his life. Ultimately, she learns that her children are safe, but her shift is far from over—she must return to the ward.

About the film/director

Katharina, daughter of a Bulgarian mother and an Austrian father, grew up between Vienna and New York. She studied Film and Literature at the University of Vienna and Acting under Ivana Chubbuck and "The Grounding" in Los Angeles. She studied dramatic writing at the Burgtheater, did journalism internships at the daily newspaper Der Standard and Radio Fritz and works as an actor and voiceover artist. In 2020/21 she was awarded the "Drehbuchwerkstatt" screenwriting fellowship at the University of Film and Television in Munich and finished her Master's in Film Directing at the Hamburg Media School in October 2024. Her short films have been screened at dozens of festivals and her second term short I WAS BUSY DREAMING ABOUT BOYS was awarded with the Engelke short film award at the International Filmfestival Emden Norderney.
All of her work is united by a passion for storytelling. Her multicultural origins and her sense of humour flow into all her stories, as does her critical but benevolent view. She works in German, English and French in Berlin.
