Storyline

Thea's life seems flawless. And what if the greater enemy is not reality but fiction?

About the film/director

The Berlin-based Emma Bading, who was seen in leading roles in films such as Meine teuflisch gute Freundin (Marco Petry) and Grüner wird's nicht (Florian Gallenberger), is one of the most promising young actresses in Germany. The TV movie Play was followed by a nomination for the International EMMY Awards, the Hessian Television Award and the Bavarian Young Talent Award. In 2020, the then 22-year-old made her debut at the International Hof Film Festival with her specially developed and directed short film Unerhört (Unheard), a story about coming to terms with a personified menstruation, receiving the "Prädikat Besonders Wertvoll" (Highly Commendable) rating and an award at the German Youth Film Awards. In her work as a director, she dealt with socio-critical topics such as loneliness in old age, LGBTQIA+ and women's empowerment.
