Schattenspiel

Storyline

A little girl is left home alone. Her fears of the dark and of being alone begin to overwhelm her. An eerie shadow monster follows her wherever she goes. But she manages to confront the monster by inventing her own shadow play.

About the film/director

Mayra Ebensen, born in Frankfurt in 2000, discovered her love of film at an early age. After graduating from high school, she discovered her passion for theater and art during a directing internship at Schauspiel Frankfurt. She has been living in Munich since October 2022, where she studies Visual Effects at the University of Television and Film. This is also where she made her first animated film “Schattenspiel”.
Paula Wodniok, born 2003 in Landsberg am Lech, studies Visual Effects at the HFF Munich. Curiosity and a pronounced affinity for creative chaos led her into the world of digital effects. By collaborating on projects such as “Schattenspiel”, she is deepening her knowledge of software tools and the art of visual storytelling.
Silvia Loose, born in Nürtingen in 1999, made her way to Munich in 2022 to study visual effects at the HFF. Her long-standing connection to art found expression in her first work “Schattenspiel”. Here she transferred her enthusiasm for sculpture to digital objects and designed the project in collaboration with an outstanding team of fellow students. During her studies, she developed a passion for compositing, to which she now devotes her focus.
