Nostalgia

Storyline

What do sourdough bread, the next Star Wars prequel and Donald Trump have in common? All three revive a feeling that is as old as the world, but still very potent: nostalgia. Multifaceted, personal or collective, poetic or reactionary, nostalgia is a complex emotional state.

About the film/director

Born and raised on La Réunion - a French overseas territory - she works as a freelance documentary filmmaker and author in Karlsruhe. She studied film and media studies in Lyon, Weimar and Utrecht, specializing in questions of representation in Western cultures and environmental studies. In 2024, she graduated from the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg with her diploma film L'île jardin. She likes to tell stories about the relationships between people, the environment and places - in portraits, reportages or essays.
