About the film/director

Nadiia Khatymlianska was born in 1996 in Kyiv, Ukraine and grew up there. She studied language and literature there. Although she had wanted to become a director since she was in school, she thought she was too young. After experiencing a revolution and war, she gained life experiences and felt the power to tell stories. She began studying directing (documentary and feature films) in Kyiv. With the beginning of the expanded war of aggression, she emigrated to Berlin, completed guest studies at the Babelsberg Film University and completed her MA in directing at the Hamburg Media School. As part of her studies, she celebrated major national and international successes with RUDI and THE ROOMS WE SHARE. Nadiia recently set sail and is looking for opportunities to realize projects on the topic of “War in Ukraine”.
