Storyline
After Natallia hears her father on the phone early in the morning and learns of the violent acts of the Lukashenko regime, she wishes for nothing more than to be with her family — yet after the night of the election, this has become impossible.
About the film/director
Anastasia Sytschew was born in Minsk, Belarus, and grew up in Germany, Bonn. Inspired by her grandparents, she discovered theatre at an early age before studying directing at the self-organized FilmArche e.V. in Berlin.
In her films, she combines personal themes with hybrid narrative forms. Migration, mental health and the female perspective are the core of her artistic work. Through Belarusian protagonists, language, and cultural references, she wants to use film as a space of remembrance, resistance, and cultural presence.
