Storyline

During Russia's war against Ukraine, a young woman from Kyiv, who has been living in Germany for 10 years, receives messages from her brother, who survived the attack on Irpin and Butcha.
This documentary short film captures her feelings, thoughts, hopes and questions. Purely subjective and personal.

About the film/director

Hubertus Hinse is a trained theatre pedagogue of the Federal Association of Theatre Pedagogy and a freelance artist.
From 1999 to 2019, he was the director of the Regensburg STADTMAUS, with which he won the Bavarian Innovation Award for Tourism. More than 60 tours and historical events in Germany and South Tyrol are his work. As a ghostwriter, he is behind scripts for radio and television spots on historical themes and local colour.
For twenty years he has led theatre, fencing and stage combat workshops and has written the roles for the children's theatre "Fjonn von den Inseln".
Since 2016, he has dedicated himself to the production of short films. His scenic collage "strange" was nominated for the Austrian zeitimpuls Award, the directorial works "Mutter", "Rusalka Variationen" and "Veritas Nuda" won several short film awards.
In October 2017, his debut novel "DRUDENHERZ" was published. The film adaptation celebrated its premiere in December 2019.
His audiobook "Thurn&Taxis: The Forbidden Letters" with Sky Dumont was also released in 2019.
During the Corona Pandemic, the short film "Nie Allein" was made as a co-production with Bayerischer Rundfunk, which had its television premiere at the first BR Kurzfilmnacht 2022.
