I'm Lina
Storyline
Lina is twelve years old and has fled Syria. She is taken in by Sonia, a human rights activist who comes from the refugee camps in Greece. Thanks to her and Marta, a psychologist, the girl will dare to face the demons of her past, diving into her traumas to begin a process of resilience that allows her to start a new life.
About the film/director
Juli Suàrez. Girona, 1967. Filmmaker. He studied production and production at ERAM, a specialized audiovisual school linked to the University of Girona. He is the founder of the LGC Films production company. His main works are documentary feature films. Works such as: "Lolo Rico: the non?invented look" (2015) "Leo to life" (2017) and "One more year" (2019) have led him to win several awards and selections at festivals around the world. His personal experiences with Abbas Kiarostami, Asghar Farhadi, Patricio Guzmán and Isabel Coixet have been a very influential experience, so his scripts and his directing work show a real and intimate look.
