Storyline

How has the treatment of people in psychiatric institutions changed from the 1970s to the present day? Who are the people who live in such an institution and what is the experience of a young man who starts working there in the 1970s? Confronted with a traumatic discovery in his family biography, a reflection begins.

About the film/director

As an independent filmmaker and editor Andreas Grützner is specialized in documentary filmmaking. So far he has released fourteen short and long documentary films. His latest films CHRIST/EL and LAND OF DISTRICTS was screened at more than hundred festivals worldwide and received several awards.
Aside from being a filmmaker, Andreas Grützner is also the founder and director of KLAPPE AUF!, the inclusive shortfilmfestival in Hamburg. The aim of the festival is to curate and present contemporary artistic shortfilms which are adapted in order to be accessible for differently abled people. The festival is now known and networked nationally and internationally and is an example of how accessibility, diversity and inclusion can be actively implemented.
