Die Verwaltung des Internets
Storyline
An Internet search request lands by pneumatic tube in the administration of the Internet. In an open-plan office, employees answer the requests and inquiries that make them doubt humanity. They still work and communicate with outdated technology, and are totally overwhelmed with their tasks. Only the eager office manager tries to maintain the facade of the harmonious office.
About the film/director
Simon Schares was born in Wiesbaden in 1994. At the age of 6 he got access to the internet for the first time, because his parents equipped their apartment with a DSL router. He was slowly introduced to the World Wide Web, Simon still spent most of his childhood in the analog world. In 2011, he decided to fully explore the Internet and successfully completed this exploration in 2014. This was followed by a degree in "Time-based Media" at Mainz University of Applied Sciences until 2018.
The management of the Internet is his graduation film. Since 2019 he is now studying directing documentary film at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg and thinks he has built up a healthy distance to the internet by now.
