Storyline

In "The Tea Table", a grandson meets his grandfather, whom he has never met, in Lebanon and brings him home with him. The film is based on a true story and was shot at original locations. His grandfather was sent to Palestine during the war in 1918 to serve as a doctor. When his grandson meets him, he looks exactly the same as in the old photos and realizes that he thinks he is still in 1918.

About the film/director

Martin Wahl, born in 1959, has been traveling the world as a development worker for 35 years. The coronavirus crisis turned him into a professional director of vocational training films. He took a liking to this and began producing short films privately. This is his second short film after "Geyermühle" in 2021, which was also shown at the Grenzland Filmtage.
