Storyline

Forced by the Russian war of aggression, four young Ukrainian women flee their homeland for Germany, where they live between two worlds. Their attempts to settle down in a foreign country are constantly interrupted by inner doubts, fear for family and friends who have joined the army, and a feeling of constant uncertainty about the future. The flood of incoming news leads to a feeling of complete powerlessness, but the young women nevertheless try to settle into their new reality.

About the film/director

Polina Kundirenko is a director from the Ukraine. She previously studied philosophy and performed in a post-dramatic theater in Kiev. After the invasion of Russia, she moved to Berlin and went to the Babelsberg Film University as a guest student. Here she shot her experimental short film Bitte. Thank you. Exactly, which deals with aspects of the refugee experience during the ongoing war.
